Watch the movie - this book omits the best parts of the story

I took my child to see the movie and she loved it. The story, as set forth in the movie, is wonderful. However, this book does not tell that story. This book omits much of the story. In particular, the book fails to explain that everyone has jumped to the wrong conclusion about the Neverbeast but that Fawn continues to have faith in him. The book also omits all reference to Nyx, a new and interesting character that is also important. Nyx wrongly judged the Neverbeast and one of the best parts of the movie is when she admits that she was wrong and thanks the Neverbeast for protecting Pixie Hollow. My child and I spent a lot of time talking about how people sometimes misjudge others, sometimes we are wrong, and that when we make mistakes, we need to apologize. We were both disappointed that these themes, clear in the movie, were left out of the book.

Pirate Fairy fans will be disappointed, but otherwise ok

I just bought this book for my daughter at the grocery store today. It is a cute story, but it is a bit of a disappointment after the Pirate Fairy story that was so creative and filled with adventure.
The story of the neverbeast is not that captivating and it left my four-year-old daughter a little bored half-way through. She also was a bit scared by the images of the neverbeast - who is a beast after all.
Still, any fan of Tinkerbell will love to read a new spin-off story, and for that it was worth the $3.99.
