If the good guys can't save you, call a bad guy.
When viral video of an explosive terrorist attack on San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge reveals that a Federal witness long thought dead is still alive, the organization he'd agreed to testify against will stop at nothing to put him in the ground.
FBI Special Agent Charlie Thompson is determined to protect him, but her hands are tied; the FBI's sole priority is catching the terrorists before they strike again. So Charlie calls the only person on the planet who can keep her witness safe: Michael Hendricks.
Once a covert operative for the US military, Hendricks makes his living hitting hitmen... or he did, until the very organization hunting Charlie's witness--the Council--caught wind and targeted the people he loves. Teaming up with a young but determined tech whiz, Cameron, on the condition she leave him alone after the case, Hendricks reluctantly takes the job.
Of course, finding a man desperate to stay hidden is challenging enough without deadly competition, let alone when the competition's shadowy corporate backer is tangled in the terrorist conspiracy playing out around them. And now Hendricks is determined to take the Council down, even if that means wading into the center of a terror plot whose perpetrators are not what they seem.

Review
"Holm succeeds in developing Michael Hendricks as a complexly conflicted protagonist, while keeping the level of action and intrigue running high. Smart, unpredictable, and well-constructed... a satisfying thriller on its own terms and likely a harbinger of pulse-quickening adventures still to come."―Portland Press Herald

"Explosive and timely . . . Holm expertly balances weighty issues of national security with more intimate personal losses, and makes it clear that the best stories happen in the gray area between good and evil."―Publishers Weekly (starred review)

"This follow-up to the acclaimed The Killing Kind is a real thrill ride. Jeff Abbott fans and adrenaline fiction junkies will appreciate how vividly the shadowy world of military contractors comes to life in Holm's skillful hands."―Library Journal (starred review)

"This story fairly leaps from the blocks. . . . The Killing Kind earned a stack of plaudits, but Red Right Hand is the rare second entry in a series that actually rivals its predecessor."―Kirkus Reviews

"The novel brims with nice turns on genre conventions. . . . Good story, good action, some startling turns of phrase."―Booklist

"Like most people in Crime Fiction Land, I've been hearing about the talented Chris Holm for some time--and now I understand why. Red Right Hand is a rare treat--a tightly constructed, crisply written, fast-as-hell thriller. Strap in tight because the chapters whip by in a blur. Such is the view from a roller coaster."―Gregg Hurwitz, New York Times bestselling author of Orphan X

It's A Ride If You Can Get On It
By Ken C.
There's a lot to like in Red Right Hand as author Chris Holm has a knack for creating likable characters. But it's how he connects them that leaves me perplexed. The origin of the story has a presumed dead guy stopping to take a video of a family right as a group of terrorists attack the Golden Gate Bridge. And as luck would have it, the presumed dead guy accidentally gets his mug onto the video. That bad fortune sets the story rolling, but how likely is any of that? Those coincidences continue in the story, giving the reader the choice of ignoring them and going along for the ride, or constantly feeling a little shortchanged on quality. Let's face it- the odds that a young college dropout would get a job at a bar just so she can get into the good guy's life are so enormously out of whack that the author should have a red right hand for life. Or at least blush a bit. I'm looking forward to Holm creating a new story with Charlie Thompson, Michael Hendricks, and maybe even Rosalind Cameron. But please don't ask us to accept so many unbelievable scenarios.

Action-packed thriller
By K.B.
4.5 stars

I won an ARC of Red Right Hand in a giveaway and here is my fair and honest review:

I normally don't read many action-packed thrillers but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself thoroughly enjoying this one. The book starts off with a terror attack in San Francisco and from there the action just doesn't let up.

Michael Hendricks, a hitman with a unique moral compass, makes it his mission to protect a formerly presumed dead federal witness. Despite the fact there are many characters to keep track of, the author does a good job of developing all of the main players.

This is the second book in the series. It is not completely necessary to read the first in the series because the reader is brought up to speed on prior events. However, since most people seem to enjoy The Killing Kind, you might as well start with that one first.

unwinding like a non-stop action movie
By steve aberle
Red Right Hand by Chris Holm breaks new ground in the action/thriller genre. And it is something to behold. Michael Hendricks is a hitman. But with a difference. His mission is to eliminate other contract killers who have run afoul of a governing body called “The Council.” In Red Right Hand Hendricks has been forced to turn on the council. He wants to destroy them and end the council’s reign of criminality.
This time, Hendricks is enlisted by the F.B.I. to protect a federal witness who is going to testify against the council. After video surfaces of a terrorist attack in San Francisco revealing the existence of the long thought dead witness, the council decides to take action. The story moves swiftly from location to location, unwinding like a non-stop action movie. Hendricks is assisted by a female tech guru who gives the story a nice added dimension.
Red Right Hand is a book that should be savored and thoroughly enjoyed. The author does what all great writers do – he makes you look forward to his next book. Buy this for the weekend upcoming.
